Since the time we found our lot, we've spent a good many hours clearing the brush, fallen limbs, branches and trees, weeds and deadly thistles. A couple falls ago, we planted hundreds of assorted daffodils after learning the deer are not daffodil lovers. Thank goodness! Every other sort of bulb (gladdiolas, hostis, etc.) have had a very short life span. It's been wonderful to enjoy the colors come spring.
